The Alphen Opus 2 Orchestra (below) from the Netherlands concluded the concert with a performance of Serenade for Accordion Orchestra (3rd and 4th Movs.) by Alexander Comitas. In the suite of four pieces, Alexander Comitas describes how life could be. In the third part "Evening Song" everything is quiet in the family. There are only a few ups and downs to be heard. In the fourth part life is a big upset. Perhaps the Armenian influence comes from a foreign friend of a child or from new inhabitants in town.

The Alphen Opus 2 is the only accordion orchestra in the netherlands specializing in contemporary music and which promotes the instrument at high level. The orchestra consists of nineteen accordionists and one percussionist the conductor is Serge Latychev.
