Grayson
Masefield
has been studying in Europe with one of the world's top accordion
teachers, Frederic Deshamps, Paris, France.
Grayson has enjoyed major successes in the last two years in international
accordion competitions in both serious music categories and virtuoso
entertainment categories. These are listed on his website.
Grayson is entered in the 2009 Coupe Mondiale in the top serious
music category (Coupe Mondiale category) and the top Coupe Mondiale
Virtuoso Entertainment category. On recent performances, he is
expected to be a top three placegetter in both these categories
and has a strong chance of being the winner. No New Zealander
has ever achieved his international competition results.
Grayson has a specially designed accordion displaying the NZ Silver
Fern on the bellows. The fern can be seen as the bellows open
and close - view on the French TV video, link below, also photo
below. A great advertisement for NZ.

Masefield in May 2009 had a major success winning 2nd place
at the Klingenthal International Accordion Competition in Germany.
