Category - Coupe Mondiale International Composition for Ensemble Music
 
The South Auckland ensemble of young accordionists Noteable Soundz forms part of The Lorraine Parnell Accordion Academy. They will represent New Zealand in the ensemble category of the Coupe Mondiale competition in August 2009.

Noteable Soundz comprises of five teenagers from South Auckland. They have been playing together for approximately three years.

Last year, they were invited to play at the annual Accordion Festival in Tauranga. In March 2009, they performed in Dargaville for Kevin Friedrich's Showcase receiving standing ovations on both occasions.

Here is a little more information about the players of Noteable Sounz.

Dan Robinson (14) is the youngest member of the group and is a year 10 student at Rosehill College. His enthusiasm and passion for the accordion are evident. Dan enjoys entering competitions, which he places well in and can often be seen busking locally. (photo unavailable)

Brad Williams (15)
Attends Botany Downs Secondary College as a year 11 student studying for NCEA Level 1. He wants to have a career as a lawyer when he leaves school. Brad has been placed well in competitions including attaining first place in the under 15 years & under duet category of the NZAA (New Zealand Acordion Association Inc.) competitions. He wishes to attain a high level of achievement in the Coupe Mondiale and would love nothing more than to be able to say he did his part in winning the ensemble section.

Martin Meyer (17)
Is currently studying NCEA Level 3 at Saint Kentigerns College to which he attained a music scholarship in 2005. As well as accordion, Martin has also reached Diploma level in piano and is studying to become a piano teacher. He has placed well in many competitions with his accordion over the past few years including SAPACs (South Auckland Performing Arts Competitions) and NZAA (New Zealand Acordion Association Inc.) respective competitions.

Tamba Young (18)
Is an alumnus of both Alfriston and Kings College. She is currently a first year law and science student majoring in psychology at the University of Auckland. Tamba enjoys music on all levels, especially the feeling of being part of a group which has been responsible for making some of the most inspiring music ever.

Michelle Chander (20)
Is completing her final year in Early Childhood Education. She is the only remaining foundation member of Noteable Soundz. This original group competed in Australia twice where they won their section.
