- In
2013, the BC Accordion Society will host an exciting International
Accordion Orchestra Competition which will be held just prior to the
beginning of the CIA Coupe Mondiale events. The competition will be
held in two rounds, with Round I being held on Saturday, August 17th
and the final Round featuring the top four orchestras on Sunday, August
18th as part of a Gala Orchestra Concert. An orchestra is defined
as a group of 9 and more players.
- An
accordion orchestra predominantly consists of acoustic accordions
and might be supported by a digital accordions (or amplified accordions)
and rhythm section.
- This
category has no age restrictions.
